My boyfriend asked me to pose for a picture wearing only the skis and the goggles.
It was outdoors in the snow. It was really cold and I couldn’t stay outside very long.
Just me and the ski poles and a skarf.
I’d like everybody to be able to see it.
The picture is so clear that you can see every icicle.

Without knowing what part of the world you are going skiing I suggest you call the ski place. The reason I say this is that I live in MD & it is cold yet my son just moved to CO & they told us there that the movie stars come there cause it is so warm in the afternoon. So if you go before noon you freeze & afternoon tee shirt. So call the place tell them you are new to this or go to their site & see if they show pictures of what people wear. Happy Skiing!

For pants, the best is the long underwear, sweatpants, covered with "powder pants", which made for skiing, there are a light, waterproof material. For the top, lots of layers

Ski pants
Ski Jacket or Shell (shell out west, Jacket east)
Goggles or Sun Glasses (Goggles East, Glasses West). On a warm day, I also wear glasses east
Good Gloves
Face Mask for east
Also, warm underwear and socks (especially east)
Hat
East = Vermont, NY, Ontario, Quebec, New Hampshire
West = Tahoe, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah…etc

ski gloves: old burton gloves I stole from my bf =P but I’d wear mittens if i had them just make sure they are made with goretex cuz if not after falling enough any waterproof glove will get soaked
ski pants: northface idk what kind I got them at an outlet for $40 and they’re the best i’ve ever had they’re so warm but not too warm with not much insulation but you really don’t need much on your legs
jacket: this old oakley thing its ok but its cold I used to have a columbia titanium jacket, it was pretty sweet I fell in a lake with it on and the top half of me barely got wet (all goretex)
helmet: I’m guessing you’re new at this so please wear one even if you’re not new I still do flips and fall on my head sometimes, I have a RED Reya one I got for $60 and it has built in headphones!
Socks: Burton makes nice socks but stick with thinner socks because your boots for skiing are supposed to be wicked tight already and thin socks will keep you warmer than sweating through heavy ones
Sweatshirt: Wear something warm over your base layer unless your jacket is fully lined and insulated
Base layer Top: I suggest something that goes up to your neck so the cold won’t get in. I like underarmour but it’s expensive
Base Layer Bottom: Any kind of legging since you’re probably going to wear your ski pants over it the whole time it doesn’t matter what they look like. I wear underarmour sometimes but the elastics on the bottom of the feet are really tight and can be uncomfortable
Wear a neckwarmer you might look weird but you’re gonna want it try the turtle soft ones they’re sooo soft but make sure its long enough to cover your face and neck
Goggles: I got spy Bias goggles I wouldn’t recommend them if you have a big face then i’d go with Oakley A frames because both option are pretty cheap if you buy last season and not directly from the companies
Don’t forget hand warmers and maybe foot warmers, a ski lock if you’re not renting and maybe a bag to carry all your stuff and a ski bag if you’re not renting

It all depends on your budget. If you don’t have much to spend, you can rent a coat along with equipments at the resort because the snow coat is the most expensive ski apparel item. Besides a nice coat, you will also need a pair of ski pants and warm thermal leggings to wear underneath. You can buy ski goggles as well if you want.
Oh yeah, don’t forget to buy a pair of ski gloves. You can find good ones in most sports shops. However, if you don’t want to spend too much money on gloves, I recommend that you check out these ones on Amazon:

They are good gloves and very inexpensive. I lost my gloves all the time and spend a lot of $$ buying new ones when I go skiing. I bought a pair from this seller. They were great! Highly recommended.
Hope this helps. Enjoy skiing!
