Good Snow Skiing Resort for a Family?

Your Questions

Hi, my wife, myself and 2 children have never skied before (we live in Miami) what are some good resorts to look into? (US or Canada) Something that is not too pricey, and may offer alternative entertainment if the kids don’t like skiing.. Thanks!

  1. Keystone, Breckenridge, and Copper Mountain in Colorado all have activities for kids other than skiing.

There’s tubing, ice skating, kids’ activity centers, etc.

  2. I am a ski instructor at Peek’n peak ski resort in southwest New York. Its a great place to learn to ski because it is moderate size and it is usually good skiing conditions. The prices are cheap compared to going to a mountain out west. Peek’n Peak also has a very nice hotel and spa to stay in. There are Stay and ski packages which are good deals.
If your kids are between ages 4 and 12 there is a Peek’n Kids program daily which is very good for teaching children to ski or snowboard. You could also get a lesson all together or individually.
If you did not want to stay at the ski resort, you could check out places in Erie, PA which is not far from Peek’n Peak and there are a lot of things to do in Erie.

Here is the link to the Peek’n Peak website:

    hope this helps
