  1. Well when you go to hire your skis they are allocated according toy our height and weight. So, really it depends on your build. People choose smaller or longer heights for more extreme/advanced types of skiing from my knowledge. If you’re buying your own, take in your measurements to ensure you get the right fit. Height, Weight and Shoe Size :)

  2. Shorter. They are easier to maneuver so it’s easier to learn to turn and stop. Take a lesson, it’s worth it!

    Shorter, most definitely.

If it’s your first time, learning how to STOP will be your first important lesson. Having shorter skis will make this easier to learn.

    Have a great time!!

    It’s easier with shorter ski.

  5. You want some skis that are between your chin and nose. Shorter skis are easier to turn, but harder to control. Longer skis are harder to turn, but easier to control.

For a beginner, you should probably use shorter ones that are about at your chin.

Usually it is easier to ski with shorter skis for beginners, but if it is your first time, you should rent skis in which case the renters will help you with sizing. If you do want to buy skis, go to a ski shop and talk to an expert about sizing, and they can help as well.
