Who can predict the future? Why don’t you ask the Magic-8-Ball in a few months from now? Jeeze, we could have a massive thaw on St.Patty’s Day and all the snow could melt. Try Again Later.
North to Alaska or at least Canada, Sun Peaks in BC, Whistler-Blackcomb in BC, both of these resorts will still have some good snow by then. If we have a heavy snow season as we did last year, almost any resort will have some snow by then. My home hill did not end the lift operation until late May. We do not need another season that long, April is just fine to end it.
At that time of year, Lake Tahoe, Colorado and Utah are generally good skiing. Growing up I used to make an annual trip with my folks out to Snowbird in March, and I can tell you, I don’t remember EVER having a bad year. In fact, most years we were skiing fresh powder for a good chunk of the week.
Just about any major resort is going to have a good base at that point, so I don’t see how you can go wrong. Just pick a resort you want to hit and go. Chances are it will be great.
The snow in the Salt Lake City Utah area at that time is usually still always excellent. Especially the higher elevations resorts of: Alta, Snowbird, Brighton and Solitude. All consistently should still have a 100+ inch base with even good opportunities to ski some new powder daily!
