Becoming Ski Instructor, Wondering What Salary for Certified (snow) Ski Instructor Is.?

Im becoming certified, i was just registered and wondering what the salary is ranging from level 1 certification to level 3 certification is so that i can choose which level i should go to. Im only doing this as a temporary job because im only 16 (and because i get a free season pass plus free skiing while there aren’t any skiiers asking for lessons).

It varies from school to school and area to area. A level 1 certified instructor is about at the bottom of the pay scale, just a little above minimum for the region. Our base for a first year PT instructor is $8.55/ hr, level 1 is $.50 more. Level 2 with several years experience is over $12/ hour of teaching time. 3 is higher yet. Typical progression is pass 1, then improve and try to pass 2 and then 3. At least a year between each exam.

Depends where you get a job, but either way, it’s not much, but perfect for a 16 year old with no bills to pay.

btw at the local place my friend got paid around $300 for the whole season, he worked 2 days a week teaching like 5 year olds, he also get free lift tickets
