Anyone in, or at One Point in Snow/Ski Club?
Your Questions
I am doing it for the first time this year, and was just wondering what it was like for you? I know that differnent schools probably have it set up differently. I am going a little over an hr. away to Brandywine.
Where did you change into your ski stuff?
What should I have? (clothing wise)
Do I need goggles? Do they sometimes supply them?
Most importantly… is spending more money on stuff going to give me an advantage?
EX: Spending 0 on a jacket at a Ski and Scuba Diving store versus at Dicks Sporting Goods?

If it’s your first time skiing, you probably don’t want to invest too much money in ski equipment until you determine if you like it or not.
To try to answer your questions…
We’re a ski family and we change into our ski stuff in the car. We walk in our ski boots carrying skis & poles to buy tickets. The less to lose & look after the better.
Clothing wise: WEAR A HELMET!! Dress in layers – an underarmour type long sleeved tshirt or turtleneck, with polar fleece ontop, and then a ski jacket or weatherproof shell, depending on how cold it is there. On the bottom, long underwear, and/or sweatpants, or polar fleece with water resistant pants. A neck warmer (not a scarf). On your feet, wool socks. (cotton gets sweaty then cold)
Goggles are not supplied. Goggles are good if it’s snowing or really cold. On a warm day you can do without. On a warm sunny day, you could go old school and just wear shades.
Spending more money on stuff like a jacket depends on whether you are dressing to impress anyone – so I suppose the advantage is in who you pick up.
Best advice is to take a lesson.
